The three main species of wild salmonids here in Scotland are Atlantic salmon, brown trout and sea trout - although technically it is now generally agreed that the sea trout is simply a brown trout which migrates to and from the sea annually. Grayling, although not so widespread in their distribution as the other species, will also merit some attention in the relevant sections.
